Achieving high precision and equipment stability is critical in manufacturing these components, with a transition from imported Japanese equipment to domestically-produced ones underway.
Shell casings, predominantly aluminum, with Al3003-H14 material having a yield strength exceeding 140MPa, face die jamming due to significant energy consumption despite low force requirements. Circular casings, ranging from pre-nickel-plated steel to aluminum alloys, vary in cost and mechanical performance, influencing equipment selection. From 18650 to 21700 and now 4680, the increasing size of products demands larger tonnage requirements. Specialized molds, often modular, pose challenges in multi-process deep drawing, especially with high-cylinder square casings reaching depths of 300mm. Stamp cover plates, such as ultra-thin 3003 variants, rebound after deep drawing, requiring high-precision presses with pressure-retaining curves. Rising efficiency demands escalate equipment SPM requirements, leading to mold heating and product sticking, necessitating immediate cooling water and ample deep drawing oil.
